TIRANAThe “Stop Informality” app is ready and on its first day, 59 denunciations have been received. The news was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who described it as a super start, as he urged all citizens to report any violations they encounter from businesses, from failing to issue a tax receipt to working off the books.
“59 denouncements by 1:30 PM on the first day of the new app! Respect and thank you for your contribution. Your denunciations are being followed up, one by one, in the field by ready tax inspection teams. Download it to your smartphone and don't hesitate to report anyone who refuses to give you a receipt; anyone who pays you in cash or refuses to cover your health and pension insurance; to the one who engages in unfair competition; to the one who comes to inspect your business and behaves badly or asks for a bribe. Your denunciation is secret and 100% confidentiality is guaranteed,”, writes Rama.
Action against informality It began at the start of August and has spread across the entire country and into several sectors, from hydrocarbons and construction to excise goods and the coastline. During this tourist season, as part of this operation, thousands of square meters of beach that had been illegally occupied by business owners have been freed.
