6,000 businesses across the country were made aware during May of the proper way to report their obligations, while 12,000 bar and restaurant establishments received personalized notices about their risk factors.
Taxpayer Service employees and high-achieving students now part of the Tax Administration are continuing this awareness campaign at the premises where businesses operate, drawing their attention to correct their filings.
Observations by the working groups revealed violations of tax legislation, including failure to issue tax receipts, use of non-fiscal equipment, failure to declare employees, and unregistered entities.
The Regional Tax Directorates are meanwhile organizing meetings with business representatives, who are being informed and advised to correct their conduct in compliance with their legal obligations.
Each of them has been informed that they are continuously monitored by the tax administration to detect and document any potential issues related to compliance with legal obligations, pending self-correction by the taxpayers themselves.
This new approach by the Tax Administration aims to increase taxpayers' level of information and self-awareness in order to build a sustainable practice of equal compliance with the law by all.
The Tax Administration is at the service of taxpayers for any clarification or assistance they may need and encourages public involvement in reporting any instances of tax law violations or other irregularities.
