New agreement between DPT and QKB: Real-time data exchange – Convenience for taxpayers

The General Directorate of Taxes and the National Business Center will use the enhanced Electronic Data Exchange Protocol, which ensures the exchange and transmission of data between the two institutions in real time, with the aim of facilitating taxpayers' compliance with legal procedures in their dealings with each of our institutions.

Director General of Taxes Ms. Delina Ibrahimaj and Director General of the QKB Ms. Pranvera Fagu signed a Cooperation Agreement, which elevates the interaction between the two institutions to a new and improved level.

The two leaders stressed that institutional cooperation between the parties is necessary and important, as it helps ensure the most accurate implementation of the rights and obligations arising from the proper application of the law and coordinates actions to accurately reflect the data of entities/taxpayers in their electronic file.

The improvements of this new cooperation agreement ensure:

  • Reflection on the legal changes of the 2019 fiscal package,
  • The electronic exchange of data by eliminating a significant portion of the paperwork procedures.
  • The collection and exchange of additional data between the two institutions for entities that are part of the commercial register and are administered by the QKB.
  • The creation of an opportunity to consult in real time on a taxpayer's or entity's tax situation, with the aim of shortening the time frame for procedures to carry out their requests.

The Agreement is entered into in accordance with Law No. 131/2015 “On the National Business Center,” Article 69 of Law No. 9723, dated May 3, 2007, “On Business Registration,” as amended,  and Law No. 9920, dated May 19, 2008, “On Tax Procedures in the Republic of Albania,” as amended.
