To search for a registered business, you can use the NUIS (Tax ID) number, the entity's name, the administrator's name, or other relevant details.

Is the data published in the commercial register private?

Data of registration and subsequent changes are published in the commercial register. In the historical extract of the subject, application documents can also be freely downloaded, except for personal data documents.

Where and how should I apply for initial registration or business changes?

The application for initial business registration and data changes is done exclusively online through the e-Albania portal. The institution that administers and approves the application with initial data and changes is the National Business Center (NBC).

Is the registration of non-profit organizations handled by the NBC?

Non-profit organizations; of all forms, as well as other subsequent changes, are carried out only at the District Court of First Instance. The application continues to be carried out by applying at the Court's service desks, including the required documentation. The list of non-profit entities can only be viewed at the Court registry and not at the commercial registry, at the National Business Center.

Where does the registration of Non-Profit Organizations take place?

Non-profit organizations (NPOs), after being established, must be registered with the Court of First Instance of Tirana, in accordance with the conditions and procedures stipulated by law, to subsequently be registered with the tax authorities.

Registration with the tax authorities and obtaining an NIPT is done online, through the e-albania electronic services portal. In this case, the completed application and relevant documentation will be sent electronically to the tax electronic system addressed to the respective Regional Tax Directorate; which will review the registration application and decide, as appropriate, to reject or approve the application, after which the NGO will commence its activities.

What is the required documentation for the establishment and registration of an NPO?

Based on Law no. 8788, dated 05.07.2001 “On Non-Profit Organizations”, the essential documents required for registration are the act of incorporation and the statute, which must define the decision-making and executive bodies, according to the chosen form of organization.
