For implementation of Plan against Informality, Tax Administration has continued the awareness campaign for the proper declaration of wages, while field verification for unregistered workers continues, specifically in sectors identified as high-risk, such as construction., call center and the garment manufacturer.
From the wage-level risk analysis, 7,200 employers were identified who underreport the wages of employees in certain well-paid occupations, and 13,400 individuals affected by this, including their future pension benefits.
The Tax Administration has communicated personally with employer taxpayers and with underpaid individuals to raise their awareness of the importance of accurate reporting and self-correction.
The Tax Administration's goal is to communicate to employees the benefits they gain from accurately reporting their wages and to make employers aware that failing to declare the actual wage constitutes a violation and is punishable under tax law.
The Tax Administration urges all taxpayers to self-report accurately and in compliance with the law, assuring you that we continuously monitor the returns and changes reflected in your compliance. For any irregularity for which self-corrective measures have not been taken, we will proceed with the measures provided by law.
The plan against informality aims first to raise everyone's awareness that complying with the law is an equal obligation for all and is in the common good.
We will continue to inform all entities and the Albanian citizen with the necessary guidance on correct tax reporting, and we will insist on doing our job to ensure this.
