Tax Administration on the ground against informality.

In implementation of the broad operational plan to combat informality, as one of the objectives of the Tax Administration's daily work, the structures of the Directorate of Verification and Field Monitoring have conducted a series of inspections, which shows that 25 entities, located in the territory of the Municipality of Kamëz, are operating their business without being registered with the tax authority.

In direct violation of the applicable tax legislation, taxpayers have been subject to tape-based business activity blocking.
Such an organized and detailed operation—with number, type of activity, and address of activity—in the territory of a municipality (Kamëz) is being carried out for the first time since the 2015 operation.

The Tax Administration clarifies that a total of over 60 verification checks were conducted, of which 25 individuals were operating an unregistered business with the tax authorities, 12 entities, which, although they were on the list denounced by the Municipality of Kamëz for irregularities, were found through verifications to be registered with an NIPT, and 2 entities that had suspended activity were reactivated by the Tax Administration in accordance with applicable legislation.

This action, with a focus on ensuring and fulfilling taxpayers' tax obligations, will have continuous coverage throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania.

While carrying out their duties, verification and monitoring inspectors in the field were equipped with an identifying uniform—a first for the Tax Administration, which has set a new standard for identifying field inspectors in order to prevent abuses and informal visits.

The Tax Administration clarifies that work will continue because the fight against informality concerns us all, so we ask every business or consumer to report any cases of irregularities or abuses of office in compliance with the law.
