- The new tax website, tatime.gov.al, now offers navigation by taxpayer type—Individual, Natural Person, and Entities—alongside the old topic-based structure.
- DPT now publishes a complete table of 45 double taxation avoidance treaties, including the ratifying law and a link to the text of each.
- The page now also provides a clear definition, with three conditions, for who is considered a “natural person” for tax purposes.
- The portals you use for filing and logging in—e-Filing and e-Albania—have not changed.
- The site has also added a chat assistant, Muçi, who answers tax questions once you log in with your e-Albania account.
The new tax page was published in the fall of 2026. It changes the structure, navigation, and some content of tatime.gov.al, the official website of the General Directorate of Taxes. For businesses and accountants who frequently use it as a resource, some of these changes deserve specific attention.
The portals where you carry out your daily transactions have not changed location. Declarations are still submitted to Electronic filing. Account login, certificates, and verifications are still done at e-Albania. What changes is how you find information about them on the DPT page. Below are the points that help you the most.

New navigation, by taxpayer type
Until now, tatime.gov.al was organized mainly by topic—Legislation, Fiscalization, Value Added Tax, and so on. That structure remains, but the site now finds information more quickly once it recognizes your type as a taxpayer.
On top of this, the page has added a second navigation layer based on the type of taxpayer. Individual covers persons without business activity, with payroll deductions, child allowance, and annual filing. Individual covers persons without business activity, including payroll deductions, child allowances, and annual filing. Entity covers trading companies, public entities, and NGOs. This makes it easier to find information when you know what type you are, not just the topic you're looking for.
Specifically, here's exactly where you're headed based on who you are.
| You are | Go directly to | The service you often need |
|---|---|---|
| Individual, without a business | tatime.gov.al/individ/ | Proof of payment or Certificate of Residence, to e-Albania |
| Natural person, with NIPT | tatime.gov.al/person-fizik/ | Submission of the declaration to e-Filing |
| Society, NGO or public entity | tatime.gov.al/entitete/ | Registration of the taxpaying entity, to e-Albania |
The site has also added a chat assistant called Muçi, similar to the other assistants of the country's digital public services. He answers tax questions, but to use him you must first log in with your e-Albania account. It can help with quick, general questions, but for specific issues related to your business, consulting your accountant remains the safest route.
| The part of the page | How was it? | How is it now? |

Full table of 45 double taxation avoidance agreements
If you need the text of a double taxation avoidance agreement or the tax residency certificate of a partner country, you can now find it directly in the section. Legislation, International Agreements. Until recently, the DPT page only directed you to Instruction No. 11/2024, without the list of countries. It now publishes a complete table of 45 states, including the ratifying law number, the date of entry into force, and a link to download the original text for each.
One thing to keep in mind, if you check the Luxembourg line. The entry-into-force date provided by the DPT appears inaccurate for an agreement ratified in 2009. We have kept the date as given by the official source on our treaties page, but we have clearly noted it so that you can verify it on a case-by-case basis before using it.
The official definition of “natural person”
New section Individual Now provides a three-condition definition. It is especially useful for readers encountering this term without previously knowing the difference from an LLC. Natural person, for tax purposes, is an individual who carries on independent economic activities, a business, or a liberal profession. It is not a legal entity. It is simultaneously registered with the Business Registry and the tax authorities, with an active NIPT.
We have added this definition to our page as well. We placed it immediately after the explanation provided by the Civil Code so that the reader has both side by side.

What to check if you have saved connections
Most of the deep links to the old scheme, /c/ and /d/, continue to function normally. During our review, we found only one exception. A DPT notice from 2024 regarding bank account updates no longer worked. We had been using it in one of our articles for the refund of the corporate income tax installment.
If you maintain your own saved links to the DPT's deep pages, it's worth checking them again. This is especially true for links to old notices or instructions.
DPT News now has a dedicated category.
Current notifications can now be found at Latest news. Of the notices from recent months, two have practical value. The first resolved the technical issue of the August 18 fiscalization that affected invoices without the unique NIVF code. The second is Decree No. 113, dated February 27, 2026. It changes the CRS reporting of financial institutions, with the first submission deadline on May 30, 2027.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to change anything as an AlProfit customer?
No. We have updated our links and resources ourselves according to the new DPT page. No action is required on your part.
Why does our page now show 45 deals instead of “over 40”?
Because DPT now publishes the full, numbered list itself—something it didn't previously do directly. We've updated our page with the same figure and the complete table.
Do the old links on tatime.gov.al still work?
Yes, most of it works normally. Only one deep link to a 2024 notification was found to be broken during our testing. We removed it from the article where it was used.
What is considered a “natural person” under the DPT?
An individual who carries out economic activities independently. They are not a legal entity and are registered with the Business Registry and the tax authorities, with an active NIPT.
Did the tax rates or deadlines change with this website update?
No. The update only affects the site's structure, navigation, and some explanatory content. Tax rates, deadlines, and obligations have not changed as a result.
Where can I find the latest tax news now?
In the new “Latest Updates” category, mentioned above, which contains all current notifications from the General Directorate of Taxes.
