Public Announcement from the General Directorate of Taxation:
As part of the measures taken against economic informality, the General Directorate of Taxes has recently launched an initiative to equip field verification inspectors with recording cameras to document the actions carried out during on-site inspections at taxpayers' activity locations.
This initiative aims to:
- I guarantee the fulfillment of the functional duties of the tax administration employees while on duty.;
- to guarantee the improvement of the tax administration's conduct and communication with taxpayers, thereby avoiding abusive and/or corrupt cases;
- to increase transparency and proper compliance with the applicable tax legislation.
- guaranteeing that the processing of recorded data is carried out solely for the purpose for which it was recorded, without misusing this data.
The testing of these recording cameras will begin on Monday, January 11, 2021, in the Tirana district.
