- The handoff to an outside economist doesn't begin with handing over the file. It begins with taking possession, where you see what's been left behind.
- The first three deadlines are due within the first month: the 11th, the 14th, and the 20th. They do not require approval.
- The documents required at the outset are not a formality. They determine whether the initial statement is accurate or merely correctable.
- At the end of the first quarter, get the first report. There you can see if the business is incurring costs it doesn't recognize.
- Over the past twelve months, our office has closed more than 3,100 work tasks for clients. The three largest groups are invoices, payroll, and VAT.
Verified on October 19, 2026.
Over the past twelve months, we have closed over 3,100 work tasks for our clients. The three largest categories are invoices and VAT with 668 tasks, payroll and employees with 640, and QKB registrations and amendments with 484. This is the real work of an accounting office, counted rather than described.
From our daily work, we see the same misunderstanding at every business that changes economists. It's assumed that the transition is just a file handoff. In fact, the first month is what determines whether the year will go smoothly or require corrections.
This text shows step by step what happens with us during the first thirty days, what we ask of you and why, and what you get in the end. It's useful even if you don't work with us, because the same process must be followed with any economist.

Week one. Takeover
The intake is the first card we open for every new client. It's not an introductory meeting. It's a status inventory.
We see three things.
- Which statements have been submitted and which ones remain.
- If there are any unpaid obligations or open fines.
- If the data in the QKB match what the business actually does—namely its business purpose, address, administrator, and status.
The third point seems formal, but it isn't. A wrongly declared business activity at the QKB causes problems with licenses and inspections, and correcting it takes time.
What we're asking of you and why specifically these
Business identity documents
The company's extract, the founding act, and the articles of association when you are a corporation. These show who is authorized to sign, what has been registered, and what the administrator's limits are.
Access to systems
Without access to e-Filing and the fiscalization portal, no declaration is submitted and no invoice is checked. This is the step that is most often postponed and that blocks everything that follows.
Latest history
The filed returns for the current year, the sales and purchase books, the recent payroll registers, and the latest financial statements. Without them, the first return we file has nothing to compare against.
Bank and Treasury
The bank statements for the period and the cash on hand. Their reconciliation is the point where most of the discrepancies that no one had noticed emerge.
Every time there is a tax or financial change that affects your business, we notify you directly by email with a practical explanation.
Send me free notificationsSecond and third weeks. Deadlines don't wait.
While the takeover is still being finalized, the calendar keeps moving. Three dates fall within the first month, regardless of when the collaboration began.
| Date | Obligation | This touches |
|---|---|---|
| 11 of the following month | Books of sales and purchases | VAT taxpayers |
| the 14th of the following month | VAT declaration and payment | VAT taxpayers |
| 20 of the following month | Payroll and contributions | Entities and natural persons in VAT |
Therefore, the work schedule in the first month is not flexible. You start with whatever has the nearest deadline, not with whatever is easiest.
Week four. System setup.
Once the initial deadline passes, the way work will be done each month is established. Three things are determined here.
- How and when we receive the invoices and documents so they don't pile up at the end of the month.
- Who issues the invoice and who checks it before it is fiscally registered.
- What do you see every month and what do you see every three months?.
The frequency depends on the package. With Start, accounting entries are recorded every three months; with Standard, every month; with Premium, every week. This isn't just about price—it's about how quickly you see a problem.
The work that doesn't show, but that keeps you out of harm's way.
Most of what we do each month doesn't come to you as a document. It's observation.
We monitor your annual turnover throughout the year so you won't be caught unprepared at the threshold. Two thresholds matter. At 10,000,000 lekë, the obligation to register for VAT arises, according to Article 117 of Law No. 92/2014. At 14,000,000 lek, the zero-percent profit tax regime ends, pursuant to Article 69 of Law No. 29/2023.
A small business doesn't calculate this itself every month, and usually only realizes it once it's already gone over. That's why this is the first part we handle.
We also track deadlines that are beyond your control, such as the compensation of contributions from the minimum wage increase, which is processed on e-Albania and closes on October 31, 2026.
What do you get in the end?
By the end of the first month, you have a clear picture of the situation, the month's statements delivered on time, and a short list of items from the past that need to be fixed, ranked by risk.
Then come the reports. How often you get them depends on the plan. With Start they're semiannual, with Standard quarterly, and with Premium monthly. This isn't just about price; it's about how quickly you spot a problem before it grows.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change my economist in the middle of the year?
Yes. There is no legal deadline preventing it. The only thing that matters is that the remaining period is closed and documented.
Who is responsible for the previous period's mistakes?
Tax liability remains with the taxpayer, that is, the business, regardless of who prepared the returns. Therefore, taking charge begins with an inventory of what remains, not with a promise.
How much time does it take for me as the owner?
Most of the time is spent gathering the initial documents and granting access. Once the system is up and running, your monthly work consists of sending documents and reading the report.
What if the business is new and has no history?
Then the first month is easier, because there's nothing to be handed over. But the other steps remain the same, and access to the systems becomes just as necessary.
Why it Matters
A poorly done opening month doesn't become apparent right away. It shows up in March, when the annual statement doesn't match the books, or on audit day. A week of work at the start saves you a year-long correction.
