Notice of minimum and maximum wages from September 2022

Starting from the period of September 2022, the minimum monthly basic wage, in
The national scale for employees, mandatory for implementation by any legal or natural person, domestic or foreign, is 34,000 lekë (Government Decree No. 604, dated September 14, 2022).

For the purpose of calculating social security contributions, the monthly gross wage will be:

1. Not less than the monthly minimum wage, equal to 34,000 (thirty-four thousand) lekë, and up to 149,954 (one hundred forty-nine thousand nine hundred fifty-four) lekë for employed persons;
2. No less than the minimum wage, equal to 34,000 (thirty-four thousand) lek and, at the individual's own determination, up to 149,954 (one hundred forty-nine thousand nine hundred fifty-four) lek, for self-employed persons;
3. Equal to the monthly minimum wage of 34,000 (thirty-four thousand) lek for unpaid family members with whom the self-employed person works and legally co-resides.

Also, for the purpose of calculating mandatory health insurance contributions, the monthly salary will be:

1. Not less than the national monthly minimum wage of 34,000 (thirty-four thousand) lek and up to the amount of the gross salary, as shown on the payroll statement, for employed persons;
2. Twice the national minimum wage, amounting to 68,000 (sixty-eight thousand) lek, for self-employed persons and unpaid family workers with whom the self-employed person works and co-resides.
