Amendments to Sole Proprietorship Details

Any change to a natural person's registered data must be reported to the QKB within the legal deadlines. The process is entirely online, free of charge, and completed within 24 hours, in accordance with Article 43 of the Law No. 9723/2007. The procedure is the same for every type of change.

Before You Begin

• Active e-Albania like a business Business Account: You must log in as a business, not as an individual.
• Valid Electronic Signature: Mandatory for submitting the application.
• Notarized Power of Attorney: Required only if the applicant is someone other than the sole proprietor.

Note: Identification must be done as a business using the NIPT, not as a citizen with an identity number. This is the basic step of the application.

Steps of the procedure

The process is conducted entirely via the e-Albania portal, to the “Application for Change of Individual” service.

1. Log in to e-Albania as a business using your NIPT and password.
2. Search for the service "Application for amending sole proprietorship details" and click "Use".
3. Complete the electronic form with the new data. Existing information will be displayed automatically from state databases.
4. Upload the notarized Power of Attorney, if applicable.
5. Click "Submit" on the final page of the form.
6. Click "Send signature code", enter the code received, and click "Sign".
7. The application is reviewed by an authorized QKB official, resulting in one of the following decisions: Approved, Suspended, or Rejected.
8. The decision is sent automatically via email and appears under "My Space" in the e-Albania portal.

Your personal documents are obtained directly by the administrative officer through state databases. You don't need to submit them yourself.

Timeframe and Cost

The QKB processes the amendment and issues the certificate within one business day of submission, pursuant to Article 54 of Law No. 9723/2007. For applications submitted during official holidays, the timeframe begins on the following business day. The service is free of charge, and the registration is valid indefinitely.

Frequently Asked Questions about Changes to a Natural Person

Within how many days must changes be registered?

The law does not specify a particular timeframe for notifying changes, but the obligation is immediate. Any unjustified delay may result in administrative fines. Therefore, the change is recorded as soon as possible after it occurs.

Can I change my economic activity if I registered it incorrectly?

Yes. The change of the NVE code is made through the same service. Note: changing the activity may affect the tax category.

Is an electronic signature required for amendments as well?

Yes. An electronic signature is mandatory for amendment applications, just as it is for the initial registration.

Can I change my address if I have relocated to another city?

Yes. The change of the headquarters' address is made through the same service and is recorded within 24 hours.

How do I identify myself on e-Albania for amendments?

You must identify yourself as a business using the NIPT, not as an individual with an identity number. This is the main difference from initial registration.
