Fair and Timely Payment

Employers are required to pay employees according to the terms of the contract and within the specified deadlines. The minimum wage ensures that no one is paid less than the level set by law (Article 78).

Practical example: If the minimum monthly wage in Albania is 40,000 Lek, a full-time employee cannot be paid less.

Additional Rewards and Bonuses

Employees have the right to additional rewards for:

  1. Overtime work.
  2. Work during public holidays.
  3. Performance bonuses, if specified in a contract or collective agreement (Article 79).

Practical example: An employee who works on a public holiday is entitled to double pay or a compensatory day off.

Commissions and Non-Monetary Benefits

The employer may offer additional benefits such as health insurance, transportation, or accommodation for employees. These benefits must be clearly specified in the contract (Article 80).

Practical example: A company that provides transportation for employees is required to maintain this benefit until the agreement ends.
